"I've Just Seen A Face"

I've just seen a face
I can't forget the time or place that we just met
She's just a girl for me
And I want all the world to see we've met.
(The Beatles)

At the time, I was idly browsing Facebook. I don't really pay much attention to it nowadays, but that day something caught my eye. It was the picture of my friend with her four female friends.

The girl in the middle of that picture, sitting right next to my friend, has the most perfect smile ever.

I know her. Sort of. We used to study in the same faculty. Never really had the chance to get close to her, talk to her, or even knowing her name. Five years, and we just kind of passed each other in-between buildings and classrooms.

Then, I forgot about it. Until I met her again in central library. We are both using the computers. Unfortunately, she sat just behind me. If only she sat next to me, I probably would have asked for her name. Chat a little bit. Get to see that wonderful smile again. But, as it is, nothing happened that day.

Some days later, I finally got her name. Looked her up on Facebook. Hit the Friend Request button.

This is the first time I did this kind of thing. Don't know why. Also don't know what to talk about later, if she did indeed accept. Heck, probably nothing significant will ever happen from this. But then, it's worth a try.

I guess there's just something about that heart-warming smile.
